PCB issues notice to Waqar Younis
The PCB has issued a notice to Waqar Younis after his remarks on the board's decision to withhold
the captain's name for the WC.
PCB media manager Nadeem Sarwar told PTI that the board had taken notice of Waqar's statement in New
Zealand regarding the captaincy issue.
We have issued him (Waqar) a notice asking him to explain his comments on the captaincy issue since
he is under contract with the PCB, Sarwar said.
He said under PCB's media policy it was binding on all team officials and players to avoid giving
statements that question or negate the policies of the board.
We have asked him to give an explanation on his statement that he was surprised by the decision not
to announce the captain for the World Cup, Sarwar said.
Earlier, Waqar had expressed his surprise over the PCB's decision to delay naming of the captain for
the WC.
This is also surprising to me. I don't know what reasons the board could have for delaying naming...

Waqar to appear at the ICC hearing
Head coach Waqar Younis will testify before the ICC anti-corruption
tribunal in Doha next week.
Sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that the ICC had asked the Board to ensure that
former security manager Major (retd) Javed Najam also appears at the hearing, which will decide the
fate of the suspended trio of salman butt , Mohammed Asif and Mohammad Amir.
The three Pakistan players are facing charges of spot-fixing during the Lord's Test against England
in 2010.
Najam will also be a witness at the hearing in Doha this week, one source said.
Najam resigned recently from his post after some issues with other officials and did not accompany
the team to New Zealand.
Throughout 2010, starting from the T20 World Cup in the West Indies, he had been the security
manager of the team including the controversial tour to England. ...

DUBAI — South African skipper Graeme Smith and Pakistan team coach
Waqar Younis bothdescribed the fourth one-day match between their two teams as having been exciting
and good for 50-over form of cricket.
Pakistan pulled off a sensational one-wicket win on the penultimate delivery of the match after
being set a challenging 275-run target on Friday, to level the five-match series at 2-2 and set an
intriguing fifth match for Monday.
Smith, whose 98 was the cornerstone for the South African total, termed the series as having been
ultra competitive.
The four teams that are playing one day cricket at the moment are doing a good job keeping people on
the edge of their seats, said Smith of the Pakistan-South Africa and Australia-Sri Lanka series.
South Africa won the first match by eight wickets in Abu Dhabi before the next three games went to
the last over.
Riding on a belligerent 72-ball, 109 not out by Abdul Razzaq, Pakistan clinched the second match -...

Waqar Younis, the Pakistan coach, has said the team will focus on fielding ahead of the upcoming
series against South Africa in the UAE, which starts on October 26. The Pakistan squad will have a
week-long preparatory camp ahead of the series.
We have set up a six-day camp from October 17 before departing for the UAE on October 23, Waqar told
the Express Tribune newspaper. Although I am placing emphasis on the three departments of batting,
bowling and fielding - fielding, once again is our highest priority as it has never been good.
Pakistan's catching during the recent tour of England was abysmal, with plenty of simple chances
being put down. Waqar was also unhappy with the level of fielding in the Faysal Bank T-20
competition in Lahore this week. I see weak fielding in the ongoing domestic Twenty20 championship...
