Boxing: Is Bradley ready for big fight?
Timothy Bradley's dream is to fight the best - but insists he must earn the right to do so.
The 23-year-old WBO light-welterweight champion is aiming at potential showdowns with the likes of
Amir Khan, Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao in the future, but first he must get past Devon
Alexander in Pontiac, Michigan on January 29.
I do want Amir Khan, I do want Mayweather and Pacquiao, said Bradley. In order to get to these guys
(Mayweather and Pacquiao), I would have to fight Amir Khan first in order to be mentioned in the
same breath with a Mayweather or a Pacquiao.
There is a lot of added pressure due to the fact this fight (with Alexander) could put me on the
brink of greatness.
I have worked very hard to get to this position and now it's time to put up or shut up. I want to
show the world what I'm capable of doing.
Bradley (26-0 11KOs) - who beat England's Junior Witter back in 2008 - has not had it easy in his...

Roach says Pacquiao can’t afford to lose with Mayweather fight
still a possibility

By Dave Lahr: Trainer Freddie Roach made a startling confession recently in an interview about his
fighter Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. In an interview at 8countnews.com, Roach said
“There’s no room for a loss right now. Mayweather’s still out there. People still want to see
that fight. That’s the fight I want to see.” So are we to interpret this as meaning that
Pacquiao won’t be put in a position where he can lose by being put in with someone that could
actually beat him like WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez, Paul Williams, Juan Manuel Marquez
or Andre Berto? Is Pacquiao being fed stiffs until Mayweather appears for the big cash out fight?
Is that why we’re not seeing those fights? If I wanted to pick guys that I felt Pacquiao could...

Boxing: Chisora will fight Klitschko
Dereck Chisora will get his shot at world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko on April 30 after
last month's bout was called off.
Klitschko, the IBF, WBO and Ring magazine champion, had been due to defend his belts against
untested Londoner Chisora on December 11 in Germany until a stomach injury forced him to pull out at
the last minute.
British and Commonwealth champion Chisora was always hopeful he would still get his chance and it
was confirmed on Wednesday they will meet in the spring, with Germany still hosting the bout.
The news leaves WBA champion David Haye's future unclear. Chisora's fellow Londoner has been in
protracted negotiations with Klitschko over a unification bout and they had looked like meeting in
April or May until Wednesday's announcement.
This news is a fantastic late Christmas present, said Chisora.
I always believed that I would fight Klitschko, and my faith has been repaid.

Lahore:The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not providing any financial assistance to the three
suspended players in their legal battle against the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The three have hired lawyers who are representing the players in their effort to get the suspensions
removed and their names cleared in the spot-fixing allegations, a PCB source said.
Mohammad Asif will be represented by a British lawyer, Elizabeth Robertson, while Salman Butt's
lawyers are Khalid Ranjha and Aftab Gul.
Mohali track will assist spinners: Curator
Mohammad Aamer's case is being fought by Shahid Karim who also represented Asif in his doping
suspension case two years ago, the source said.
Butt had earlier approached Pakistan's top lawyer and a former Federal Minister, Aitzaz Ahsan to...

Vitali Klitschko reckons David Haye is scared of him and his brother Wladimir, reports The
Sun.
The highly-rated Brit's chances of fighting either of the Ukrainians later this year appears to be
over after negotiations stalled over how the fight purse would be split - and Vitali claims Haye
simply just does not want to fight.
Haye doesn't want to fight. He talks so much, but he has to be honest with people, he said.
The Klitschkos are ready to fight him anytime. We'll split the worldwide income 50-50 - I think
that's fair.
Right now Haye is missing. If he's afraid to fight, he needs to tell everyone and stop the talk.
Vitali is expected to defend his WBC crown against Shannon Briggs in October, and judging by his
latest comments is also eager to face the 29-year-old Londoner in the ring sooner rather than
later.
Haye has twice jumped away because he is afraid.
If he's ready, let's sign the contract and talk in the ring with our fists, not with our mouths.

Teams facing the prospect of a world-record run-chase generally find themselves praying for rain at
some stage of the proceedings, but Pakistan have never been the most conventional of outfits. When
play resumes for Friday's fourth day, every batsman in the home dressing room will be praying for
skies as cloudless as those that they might expect in Karachi at this time of year, as they set
their sights on a marathon target of 440 to win the first Test against Australia. It is an
outlandish notion, especially given that the same 11 cricketers crumbled to 148 all out in
Pakistan's first innings, but such is the effect that the weather has on Lord's. When the atmosphere
is heavy, the ball does handstands, but when the sun breaks through, the pitch becomes as flat as
Faisalabad - as Salman Butt and the debutant Azhar Ali demonstrated in taking Pakistan's score to a...

This Palm Springs product has stayed right on the road so far,
and most everybody believes Bradley is only a few fights away from reaching his destination.
The WBO 140-pound champion (25-0, 11 KOs) will temporarily move up to welterweight on Saturday night
to meet fellow unbeaten Luis Carlos Abregu, but this meeting is likely just a prelude to bigger
bouts and burgeoning fame for the Desert Storm.
I'm fighting on the big scene now, Bradley said with a grin while getting his hands taped before a
recent workout in a Sunset Boulevard gym. I worked my way up from the backyard. After this fight, a
lot more people are going to want to fight me at 140. It's a chance to get more opportunities.
A victory over the free-swinging Argentine (29-0, 23 KOs) would keep Bradley in position for bouts
against the world's best 140-pounders and put him in the discussion for fights with Floyd Mayweather
Jr. or Manny Pacquiao down the road. He also realizes a loss to Abregu, a less-disciplined boxer...

Featherweight titlist Yuriorkis Gamboa will still attempt to
unify belts, just not against Orlando Salido as originally planned. Instead, Gamboa will face Elio
Rojas to unify two of the major 126-pound titles.
Gamboa and Rojas will meet Sept. 11 in the main event of an HBO Boxing After Dark card at a venue to
be determined -- although promoter Top Rank hopes to have the fight in Las Vegas -- Top Rank's Carl
Moretti said. Moretti said Top Rank and Don King, Rojas' promoter, have come to terms, although they
are trading paperwork.
We've sent them a draft of the contract for them to review and we're waiting for their comments, but
we've agreed on the terms, Moretti told ESPN.com.
Gamboa had been scheduled to face Salido in a unification match on July 24 on HBO in Las Vegas, but
the card was scrapped because Salido suffered a cut in his split-decision, title-winning effort
against Cristobal Cruz on May 15 and it had not healed enough to allow him to train properly for the...

Dubai - a modern scientific research found that the vaccine
scavenging used for vaccination against smallpox proved to be effective in strengthening the body's
resistance to HIV AIDS.
And the scholars from the University of California, Los Angeles, and George Mason, Virginia, that
the results are still preliminary and need further studies.
Dr. Raymond H. Weinstein, from George Mason University: There are many explanations proposed for the
rapid spread of HIV disease AIDS in Africa, and this includes the war, re-use of unsterilized
needles and the contamination of the first installments of the polio vaccine.
He added: All these theories either overturned or they do not explain enough the behavior of the
spread of HIV.
It notes the study authors had been phased out the use of smallpox vaccine during the fifties and
seventies, after the success of international efforts to eradicate the disease.
The virus starts HIV to spread quickly, almost in the same timeframe.

This isn't really a surprise to anyone - or it shouldn't. It was going to take Portugal losing by a
few today and Ivory Coast winning by a few today for it to end up any different than it has and we
think these games played out exactly how they were always going too.
After twenty minutes however, I thought for a moment it might happen. Ivory Coast were 2-0 up and
looking like they wee going to score every ten minutes, but as the nest ten minutes went by ang then
the next - it became clear it wasn't going to happen.
But they gave it a go and it was nice to see but the focus for us today was on Brazil and Portugal -
hoping we see something from Brazil that would make us think they could win the World Cup and I'm
afraid we didn't see it.
Yes, they are Brazil, but they are not eh Brazil we hoped to see in South Africa and while Kaka and
Robinho both sat this one out - for different reasons - they haven't really looked that good with...

I came across a disturbing story on Yahoo! News last week called “Confessions of a former
spammer”. It detailed the practices of a former email spammer named “Ed” who earned a as much
as $15,000 per week sending emails that promoted pills, porn and casinos. Like any good opportunist,
Ed has written a book about his exploits. But just a read of the news story will give you a feel for
what it’s like to work in this seedy sector of the internet. Read the full story
Once my nausea subsided, reading the article got me to thinking about our own spam challenges. While
we have powerful anti-spam protections in place on the Yahoo! network and in Messenger specifically,
the ultimate spam protection comes from our millions of users who take the time to report unwanted
messages.
It’s vital that when you encounter spam on Yahoo! Messenger, you take the time to click to report
it. By doing so, you alert us to spammy Yahoo! IDs which in turn makes our anti-spam system -...
